Rooted in local communities, drawing together diverse stakeholders, building on ordinary geodiversity and the extraordinary geodiversity (the geoheritage), UNESCO Global Geoparks rise to this challenge. They deliver for inhabitants, and contribute to international frameworks such as the Paris Accord, the Global Biodiversity Framework or indeed the Sendai Framework for Risk Reduction. All around the world UNESCO Global Geoparks are helping decision makers and the public, not only to rediscover, but also to kindle a new respect for the Earth and its processes. Join us on a journey of hope, exploring how UNESCO Global Geoparks weave multifaceted stories of the past to address the challenges of today, and how together, we can build a brighter and balanced tomorrow.
